QR Codes Coming to MedPeds

MedPeds will be utilizing QR Codes as a way to enable our patients with quicker more efficient access to the various resources on our website.

QR Codes are special barcodes that contain embedded links to webpages. Consider a situation where you may be reading a printed copy of the latest MedPeds Newsletter and may wish to go directly to a page that is referenced within the letter. Think of it as a paper-based hyperlink.

Simply open a barcode reader app on your smartphone and scan the QR Code on the printed page - or even from a website; your smartphone's browser will direct you to the intended page. All you need is a barcode reader for your smartphone.

Most barcode readers will also read QR Codes and are readily available free of charge. Just go to your phone's App Store or Market and search for Barcode scanners or QR Code scanners and you'll be up and ready in no time.

MedPeds Gains National Award

NCQA-PPC Logo

MedPeds has been recognized by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) for achieving Level III of the Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH). NCQA is a private, non-profit national organization dedicated to improving health care quality. In Maryland, only a few practices have achieved the Level III PCMH Award. We are proud of this accomplishment.

What is a Patient Centered Medical Home?

Patient Centered Medical Home - or PCMH - means your doctor is engaging you in your overall health goals. The doctor uses a team approach and technology to coordinate your care across specialty and location venues. What makes it your “home” is that this practice promises to remain your source of comprehensive care in sickness and in health. As a patient of this practice, you can expect whole-person care that results in a healthier, more informed you.

If you wish to opt-out of participating in the PCMH program, please complete the Maryland PCMH Opt-Out form located on the PCMH website:
